Within 31 days of your spouse or dependent child gaining or losing eligibility for Medicare or Medicaid, contact Benefits Outlook to change coverage for you, your spouse and/or your dependents. Spouse or dependent child gains Medicare/Medicaid eligibility

Drop coverage for your spouse/dependent child:

  • Medical
  • Dental
  • Vision

 

Add, drop, increase or decrease coverage:

  • Personal legal plan

 

Change contribution amount:

  • Health care FSA

 

Your changes take effect the first day of the month after your spouse or child gains Medicare or Medicaid eligibility.

Spouse or dependent child loses Medicare/Medicaid eligibility

Add coverage for your spouse/dependent child:

  • Medical

  • Dental

  • Vision

You can only add your spouse or dependents if you are currently enrolled in benefits. Your changes usually take effect the first day of the month after you notify Benefits Outlook.

 

CHIP

If your dependent child loses eligibility under the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and you pay the premiums, you can add your child to your Katy ISD health plan. Within 60 days of your child’s eligibility change, contact Benefits Outlook to update your coverage. Call 866-222-KISD (5473) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays, or 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturdays, excluding holidays, or click the Enroll button on the home page.

If your child gains eligibility under the CHIP program, you can’t make changes to your benefits until the next annual enrollment period.
